At last, I've got the engine running.  First engine start January 7, 2004.  Here are some videos of the engine running.

Combination engine start and run video in wmv format, best for Windows users (1.4 Mbytes).

Engine start in mpeg format, (8 Mbytes).

Engine run video in mpeg format (46 Mbytes).

Expect long download times for the mpeg clips unless you have a high speed connection.

An excellent source of information about the BD-4 is http://www.bd-4.org

Spend an hour listening to the the rotary engine discussion group at Sun 'n Fun 2004.  Caution, this is a 64 Mbyte WAV file. I will make a smaller file as soon as I figure out how.

See a video of the first run of a new rotary engine being developed by Mistral, a Swiss company, to be certified for aircraft use.  Mistral Video
